QuietRedact finds names, addresses, emails, phone numbers, IBANs, card numbers, IDs and faces in PDFs and images, lets you correct every box by hand, and exports a permanently flattened file. All document processing happens on your iPhone or iPad.
Common questions
Something was not detected
- Automatic detection is a helper, never a guarantee. Always review every page before exporting.
- Draw a box by hand over anything the app missed. Manual boxes are redacted exactly like automatic ones.
- Very low-resolution scans, handwriting and unusual fonts reduce text recognition quality.
Something was detected that should stay visible
Tap a highlighted box in the review screen to turn it off. Only the boxes that are switched on are burned into the export.
The export failed or the file will not open
- Password-protected PDFs cannot be processed. Remove the password in another app first.
- Very large files need free storage — the export is written as a new file, the original is never modified.
- If the file came from iCloud Drive, keep QuietRedact open while it downloads.
Is the redaction really permanent?
Yes. QuietRedact does not draw removable black rectangles on top of a PDF. Each page is rebuilt as a flattened image page, so covered text cannot be selected, copied or recovered in Preview, Acrobat or any other PDF tool. Verify this yourself: open an export and try to select the text underneath a black box.
Pro is missing after reinstalling or on a new device
Open the Pro area and use Restore Purchases while signed in with the same Apple Account you bought with. Purchases belong to the Apple Account, not to the device.
How do I cancel a subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Apple and are managed in your device settings under your Apple Account → Subscriptions. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. See Apple's subscription help.
